Fred...the whole incident and then your venting here is cathartic; as you well know this very moment.  Your initial reaction of betrayal and the anger and hurt from it was immediate. You wait 6 hours and then life plays some drama that gives you pause to think. Again, very cathartic.  Don't act in a moment of ill conceived and momentarily non-deliberated anger...don't act in hot blood. Take pause to think, feel what ya have to feel, then think it through. We ain't kids anymore and our years of experience should give us pause for concern and reasoned response. Notice I use the word "pause" a lot. In essence, Easy does it.  You'll figure it out, you might be a hoser but you aren't a dumb ass..

Well, since you asked and since I have never been one to follow the rest of the crowd to make friends,
YES, you are being a hypocrite. The only difference between you and your X buddy is the fact that your wife had the class and  discretion not to repeat the story until she was humiliated. Your X buddy's wife did not have the class to keep silent and spread the story around. As far as you and your buddy goes, you both did exaclty the same thing. He told his wife your secret and you told your wife his secret. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go take my Burl Ive's greatest hits album off the turntable. The Dodgers/Giants game is about to start.

To Jay, reading the posts it must be an age thing.  I visited every brothel in the Reno/CC area, with the exception of the Kit Kat, during LPIN Gathering 13 and no one asked to see an ID.   I have seen guys who looked to be under 18 get carded but that should be expected at any business that is age restricted.

I.B.:  I think you're right.  Except I'm an old hoser!  Reading some of the posts, I remembered back when I was in the Kit Kat one night and a Sheriff's deputy came in -- didn't bother me one bit.  He was there to check the girl's work cards, anyway, and this he did standing quietly at a corner of the bar.  I think he was there to get an eyeful, myself.

Besides, I don't get to the Reno/Carson City area that much, so I really can't say what goes on there currently.  Guess I'll have to check it out again.  Poor me -- forced to check out the brothels.  I think to really see what's going on I'll have to go undercover.  Maybe more the once...

I don't see how FredT was being hypocritical in telling the ex-friend's wife about his porn since whatever pact they had of nondisclosure was broken unilaterally by the ex-friend.  Wouldn't that free FredT of whatever obligation he had under the old agreement?

One thing is clear: FredT has an awesome wife if she understands the hobby.  Lucky guy.

     Even though it might be a first, I agree with what Sidey is saying. In that both Fred and his xfriend both did the same thing, they told their wives each other's secrets. If Fred wants to be mad at someone it should be the xfriend's wife for being a self righteous blabber mouth, and the xfriend to lesser a degree, because he should know how his wife would react. As for warning her daughter, WTF? He patronizes legal prostitutes, with his wife's permission, he's not a registered sex offender.

As to the I.D. thing: I've never been carded at a brothel, except on an outdate. If I was I wouldn't mind, as I don't feel it's in their interest release any information, because if it was found out, they would loose business.

Just a little story about friendships. As some know, I dabble in old records and I'm always collecting classic rock videos. There's an old group from 1960 called The Jive Five who are still performing. They had one huge hit with a song named "My True Story"  The leader of the group wrote it after his best friend married his girlfriend.  Fast forward 49 years and they are still singing the old doo wop classic, " my true story". Oh, and by the way, his best friend is still in the group.

Just spent the weekend at a nephews wedding.  Boring as all hell, but it did give me and the wife to talk a lot out.  Turns out SHE is now feeling guilty for outing the asshole, but could see nothing wrong with what I did.   After lots of thinking, (Along with lots of drinking, it WAS a wedding weekend after all) I have to agree with Sidewinder.  My only defense is that after 30 years of marrige I KNOW my wife can keep a secret... In fact she can be so tight lipped that I often wonder when she is gonna explode.  Paulies wife on the other hand is the ultimate gossip.   

I know, that's no excuse, but it's all I got.  I did tell my wife though, no more gossip unless I WANT it to get out, regardless of the circumstances.

PS:   My "friend" now claims I owe him $20,000......   $5,000 for the trashed computer & hard drives, $5000 for new software, and $10,000 for replacement of all the DVD's and Video's.  My answer was to tell him to fuck off, and if he pushed it, I would forward THAT e-mail on to his wife.

Wow, I just had to comment here after seeing the $10000 replacement for DVD's and videos... With that much stuff, his wife had to know about it! She probably just thought that her shit didn't stink and no one knew about his collection. I wish I had a collection like that!
