Also a group that hosts amateur astronomers in Tonopah. they have a place way out away from all ground light that gives a clear view and from a fairly good altitude.

I posted this here even though it may also belong in "Way Off Topic" because, well, it does have to do with LPIN.

In another thread, it was mentioned that one ought to have more than one reason to come to Nevada if you're traveling 2000 miles. Some of us travel to Nevada only for sex...some of us are locals.

But if you're coming from very far, or even if you're not, what else is there to do other than go to brothels? (This is coming from a guy, me, who loves going to brothels just to hang out and drink coffee/iced tea or eat food lol.)

Vegas is...obvious. At Reno, there doesn't seem like much other than casinos, but I do like going to Virginia City, and it is close to Moundhouse. I think the ladies like going there too...it's on like every single "outdate idea list!" thread topic on the Bunny Boards.

Plus in Reno/Elko there are a ton of nice hikes and wilderness stuff. I'm not really the most "outdoorsy" person, but man those ruby mountains by Elko are cool. I found out too there is a pretty cool running trail by the Mustang...I think Tatyanna told me that, I know she's a runner.

Hey High Drive if you head in the direction of crystal you can see some of the old airplane relics of area 51. There is also some nuclear test sites near there. Not sure if you can get anywhere near Area 51..you might be shot...but sometimes you can see the unmanned vehicles being prepped and tested. Really cool.

You can stay at a casino hotel , eat at the star restaurant or others, and go to a bar, then to a brothel all within 5 blocks!

In Vegas, spend yer non brothel time at......the Spearmint Rhino.  The chicks are FAR more bodacious than the girls in the brothels.  Figure on a budget of 300-500

I'll be staying a few days in Reno next week and will of course be seeing Tahoe but I'd appreciate some suggestions. I'm hoping to get to raft one morning , visit heavenly for the mountain roller coaster and will be visiting Elko ;-) ! The general beauty will make the drives an adventure in itself. Good restaurants, events , concerts , comedy clubs or giant balls of twine are all welcomed !

Ok just a few more days till I'll be in Reno. So any specific suggestions for Reno / Tahoe restaurants or activities would be great. What restaurants, buffets, casinos or sightseeing ? Any places to avoid ? What's the best deal for a rental car ?

I already booked whitewater rafting and plan to go to heavenly.

There's lots to do in Reno. Gsr has concerts once or twice a week. I know Santana is there in early September. There's a wpt poker tourney at the Atlantis right now. Generally there's a show of some kind at one of the casinos. All the casinos have web pages with a  calander of events. Check before your trip. May be a show you would like to see.  We got a few nice golf courses so pack your clubs. There's a minor league baseball team, the Reno aces, if you like baseball go catch a game. Comedians do shows here sometimes. I think Kevin Hart is probably the biggest name comedian I've personally seen here. Theres lots of small festivals all the time. A lot of little food festivals. Lots of good redtaraunts, to many to list. I know I've seen a little water park somewhere. Near exit 20 I think. There's lots of stuff to do around Reno other than gambling. Just google what you're looking for and you'll probably find it.
