what's there to do in NV other than chill in brothels?

I posted this here even though it may also belong in "Way Off Topic" because, well, it does have to do with LPIN.

In another thread, it was mentioned that one ought to have more than one reason to come to Nevada if you're traveling 2000 miles. Some of us travel to Nevada only for sex...some of us are locals.

But if you're coming from very far, or even if you're not, what else is there to do other than go to brothels? (This is coming from a guy, me, who loves going to brothels just to hang out and drink coffee/iced tea or eat food lol.)

Vegas is...obvious. At Reno, there doesn't seem like much other than casinos, but I do like going to Virginia City, and it is close to Moundhouse. I think the ladies like going there too...it's on like every single "outdate idea list!" thread topic on the Bunny Boards.

Plus in Reno/Elko there are a ton of nice hikes and wilderness stuff. I'm not really the most "outdoorsy" person, but man those ruby mountains by Elko are cool. I found out too there is a pretty cool running trail by the Mustang...I think Tatyanna told me that, I know she's a runner.

Railroad museum in Carson City, the mustang pens up North of Sparks (most people probably haven't seen that many horses in one place). The Lahontan Trout hatchery at Gardenerville, South of Carson City, has some exhibits and tours, it's also possible to tour the Marble Bluff dam and fish elevator out on Pyramid Lake.
There is a small ordnance museum in Hawthorn.

Farther away from the major cities there are places like Berlin Ichthyosaur State Park and Tonopah Historic Mining Park.

I haven't spent much time around Las Vegas, so not much to say, there.

Tons, too many here to mention. Check out Lonely Planet's Guide to the US. There is a real cool helicopter trip near Vegas. Does quite a few locations even going as far as the Grand Canyon, in AZ. Near Reno there are balloon festivals and air shows. Also in Vegas you are within a short drive of the Hoover Dam. Really spectacular views. Some of the hotels will even organize excursions there. And then there is the momorail in Vegas.

Yes, I forgot to mention Lake Tahoe, one of the most beautiful lakes in the US. Also the casinos in Reno are nicer than Las Vegas.

Hey Dennis, a brilliant idea and great new business opportunity for you. Have you thought of offering helicopter  tours between your various ranches? I think some helicopters may have the range to do Crystal to Carson. Didn't you have a landing port behind one of your houses. Was it LRS?

not to put words in Dennis mouth, but i believe there is a helocopter landing site in front of the parking area at the Moonlite Bunny Ranch. Don't know if it has lights for night landing though.

There's a lot more to Vegas than just the LV strip, casinos, shows/concerts, and restaurants depending on your particular interests.  My mom lived in the area for close to 15 yrs before she passed away, so I use to visit Vegas quite often and I still go 1-2 times per year.  For better values, stay away from the strip.  Lodging, shopping, dining, etc. is a lot less expensive if you go where the locals go.  Even gambling is better at the local casinos.

For those who like the outdoors, Red Rock Canyon is a cool area for hiking, as in the Valley of Fire.  Mt. Charleston isn't far from Vegas and the temp is usually cooler up there during the dog days of summer when the temps in Vegas climbs to well over 100F.  They also have a ski lodge where you can grab a bite to eat.

You can take side-trips to places like Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, the Grand Canyon, Laughlin, and Primm (Whiskey Pete's in Primm has Bonnie & Clydes Getaway car on display).  If you have more time and like driving, there are other national parks within a few hours from Vegas.

Any suggestions?  The best one I have found is Coco's next to the Motel 6 on Tropicana.  I can drive right up and not have to walk a mile past slot machines.

If you like authentic Thai cuisine, try Lotus of Siam.  They're located on Sahara, east of the LV strip in the Commercial Center Village.
Black Bear Diner - On Tropicana, west of the LV strip just past Jones Blvd.
Blueberry Hill Family Restaurant - On Flamingo Rd, east of the LV strip, near Tamarus St.
Pizza Rock - They have a location downtown, but I like the one at the Green Valley Ranch in Henderson. Plenty of parking and it's usually less crowded.

Also a group that hosts amateur astronomers in Tonopah. they have a place way out away from all ground light that gives a clear view and from a fairly good altitude.

  Virginia City is pretty neat and take a train ride in Carson City, Reds 395 has awesome food. Death Valley down South.
