The closest hotel that I'm not sure if they charge or not is the Tropicana. Then you'd probably have to head up to Flamingo/Ballys

BTW, here's a great article about the future of the north part of the strip. 2 hotels open in 2017

I'm guessing it was t-mobile arena as well since it was funded by mgm and not the taxpayers.

Well gang, let me brag about the Motel6, where it is 10 ft from car to room, and no parking fee.
Plus, I can drive 100 ft to the near by restaurant, again 10 ft from car to restaurant door.

I stayed at a place once that's right off the I-15 frontage road on the south end of Vegas not too far from highway 160. Don't remember its name but this place was scary. The motel office was inside a steel cage with what looked like a bullet proof window in front. It had an armed clerk & other mean lookin' security guards. It was the only place I saw with a vacancy sign in front. There was a National Rodeo in Vegas that week & rooms were all filled up everywhere I looked.

When I got to my room the first thing I noticed was the door, the door jamb & the door knob all looked brand new. The jamb trim hadn't been painted yet... still plain wood. The door chain on the inside looked new too. Couldn't help bit wonder why all the new fixin's for the door. I slept with my .38 under the pillow that night.

Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by the delusional illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Been trying to stay off the Strip when I go out there now and for the most part have been successful. Right now my favorite is South Point. Decent prices, easy to get in and out of, restaurant prices are comparable with outside ones, nice clean rooms, and shower that's tall enough for me to fit under ;D. Silverton isn't a bad place to stay either since it's right off Blue Diamond Road. I've seen some place way south of town called the "M" that I've been meaning to at least take a look in while I'm out there.

I stopped by the "M Resort" during my recent trip to Sin City.  I've never stayed there, but a few friends who have said their rooms are nice.  It's more of a locals resort/casino, due to it's location and it's usually less crowded than the ones on the strip.  The M Resort's parent company now owns the Tropicana too, so their players card is good at both resorts.

I love Las Vegas. I like going there and looking at all the stuff but I have to agree with fly on the hotels. Change the name of the Imperial Palace to the Ling,  put some new wall paper up and install some new carpets and charge $100 more per night.  Same thing with Bill's that was a great Strip Hotel.  Great room Rates and food deals not to mention Big Elvis in the lounge.  Turned it into a boutique hotel where they expect you to put on a tuxedo and eat fried chicken with a knife and fork.  There are still some good bargains in Vegas, just not any of the Caesar's properties and not on the strip. Golden Nugget and 4 queens are very nice at good rates. Plenty of decent hotel/casinos off the strip at good rates too.

BTW: What in the fuck is a Ling?

Fuck Caesars and their Ferris Wheel which they can stick right up their ass.

I think its Linq, not Ling

And at least Cesaers isn't charging for parking.

And the Imperial Palace was due for a makeover 20 years ago when I first visited Vegas.

If you still need a dive place on the strip, there is always the Casino Royale

No, Caesars properties just charge resort fees that are sometimes as high as the price of the room or higher.

So do the MGM and many other of the strip properties as well.

I think the golden Nugget charges something like $5 which is a fraction of what the Caesars resorts charge.  As far as I know, 4 Queens doesn't charge any resort fee.
