I've visited Aria many times, but I prefer staying elsewhere since I get casinos comps at other properties.  Although, I have a few friends who like staying at Aria.  They said that their rooms are very nice, as well as the room views, pool, etc.

Aria is closer to the southern end of the LV strip, so it depends one what attractions you're interested in seeing.  The new T-Mobile arena is next door behind the Monte Carlo, as well as The Park between NYNY and the Monte Carlo.  I know a lot of folks who prefer mid-strip, since there are quite a few attractions within walking distance like the Bellagio fountains, Mirage Volcano, Caesars Forum Shops, High Roller at the Linq, Wax Museum, etc.

Just be aware that many places now charge for parking on the strip unless you're a mid-high level gambler in their players club.  That includes self-parking as well as valet parking.

Personally I LOVE the Aria, mostly because it is NOT a casino, and it is in the middle of everything (and attached to the largest upscale mall in the area.)

I've stayed there a couple of times and like it. What's really cool is that everything is controlled in the room via a keypad, and the room remembers your settings and will automatically set it again the next time you stay.

As Dr. Who said, its close to the new T-Mobile arena which is great for me too.

And you can go next door and have tea at the Oriental.

I've stayed at Aria and liked it.  However, during the hottest days in the summer, the AC in the rooms seemed to have a hard time keeping the temps down.  Also, the rooms I had started showing wear and tear faster than other newer Vegas hotels I've stayed at.  It's also a large property, so I wouldn't recommend it for someone who can't walk a lot.  I would still stay there again however.

Yes it does, but its not forced integrated into the hotel like say the MGM Grand is. Its to the side and you wouldn't even know its there if you don't go looking for it.

You have to go through the casino to get to the main bank of hotel elevators if you use the main entrance and walk to them from the check-in desk.  However, there is an alternate way to get to the hotel elevators that avoids the casino.  You would have to use the North entrance off of Harmon, take the escalator to the second level (which has the buffet, retail, etc.), and catch the hotel elevators there.

You could also get to the main casino elevators from the North entrance, but you would still pass by the edge of the casino for a short distance.

If you stay in the Sky Suites, there also might be a way to avoid the casino.

Perhaps I'm biased by the dates of  my visits, but stay near where you want to be the most.  Attractions in Vegas are spread over a ton of miles – and even having a car – it can be a PITA the get to them.  Waiting in line for cabs sucks, the monorail isn't better, I don't ride the bus and the strip is so broke up that walking is difficult (annoying after a time or 2).  Add in traffic and paid parking (and distance) and each building is becoming its own city.  I've never noticed a room/amenity that I would pay extra for.   If you need a view visit the 'Eiffel Tower'.  All the view (360°) and interesting story you'll ever need.  Yes the Aria is 'nice' but then so is the Wynn, Bellagio, Mirage, MGM, Caesars and the Venetian.  If you don't have a nexus – pick the center strip or downtown.

Strange...   I have absolutely no recollection of a casino there.  Either I am gong senile (a good possibility) or the Casino was not in operation in late 09 (Shortly after the hotel opened)...   As I was there for a small convention in the hotel, (and spent all of my "free" time driving out highway 160... )  Maybe it's not surprising that I phased out to the casino.  (But I swear I DONT remember one at all!)
