I was just going to post that. I'll be kind,  Perhaps not the best spokesperson for Las Vegas at the moment.

It made for good television. I honestly don’t even know what to say.

Here's the Nevada governor's response to the Las Vegas Mayor.  Much more realistic if ya ask me.

Mayor Goodman is a fool without a plan--who says go ahead open up businesses  but doesn't put in motion safety protocols to protect employees and visitors. New Orleans Mardi Gras is an example of what happens when too many people gather together without the proper distancing and face covers.

Sidewinder,
What would you suggest for casinos to open? Every other slot machine? Wearing masks mandatory in all casinos? Buffets remain closed? I saw Mayor Goodman offered no help at all, seems like a large task.

Yes, every other machine. Keep Buffets closed. Mandatory wearing of mask. Also no smoking. No need to have people pulling their mask up and down to smoke which some would try.  Each customer would be given a pair of latex gloves which would be put on at the door and must remain on until leaving the casino. If they have to go to the bathroom, a new pair of latex gloves would be issued. Plenty of hand sanitizer on hand. No food or drinks being served at the machines. Temperature checks when entering the casino.   No more then 4 people in an elevator at once. No large gatherings of people on casino floors.

Is it true that Cirque Du Soliel employees were part of a lay off? If so, would casinos need to have new shows or will those shows come back?

What I did find interesting was Mayor Goodman wanting all the casino workers back at work but when asked about her, she said her office lobby was closed to the public.

Do you know which casinos falls under her jurisdiction? She said the ones on the strip are under county? Just curious how many owners she supposedly talks to?

You know, all the times I've been to Vegas, that is something I didn't know until just recently. That is the Casinos on the strip are in an unincorporated part of Las Vegas so they are under county control. In other words, the city of Las Vegas has nothing to do with them. I know all the Fremont St casinos are in the city of Las Vegas along with many of the Casinos out in the neighborhoods.  However, I think some might also be in Henderson while other such as Rampart might be in  Summerlin. I think all the Stations Casinos are in Vegas but I could be wrong. Probably all the Casinos out on boulder HWY. such as Sam's town and the Cannery and a small western theme casino who's name escapes me.  I'm not sure about the Westgate, Rio, Palms, Orleans or even Trump for that matter.

Interesting article on Unincorporated Las Vegas and how it came to be that way to avoid taxes.  Also interesting how far it actually stretches.  Now I'm not so sure about the casinos on boulder Hwy. or other casinos being in the city limits. It's much more then just the Las Vegas Strip.

Do you know which casinos falls under her jurisdiction? She said the ones on the strip are under county? Just curious how many owners she supposedly talks to?

The borders of the city are all over, roughly the southern border is Charleston Blvd. between the 215 and Nellis Blvd., with a strip south down to Sahara between Boulder Highway Buffalo. The Eastern border is Nellis Blvd. north to Lake Mead Pkwy. back east to Rancho then north to Decatur. The northern border is roughly until development runs out. There are pocket within this that are unincorporated.

Other than the Downtown Casinos, the rest are "Locals" Casinos. Four Stations Casinos (Texas, Fiesta Rancho, Santa Fe, and Red Rock) one Boyd (Suncoast), Rampart Casino, Arizona Charlie's Decatur. It's possible that Jerry's Nugget and the Sahara are in the City Limits. They're both close to the borders, so they might be carved in. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
