Huge traffic on forum sites.

The large traffic on forum sites is NOT due to positive activity. It is due to hackers doing a mass attack against our sites right now. The forum will be going up and down until our hosting provider wakes up and blocks their denial of service attacks.

It is not due to popularity and increased membership. It is due to people who are against these types of sites who have an axe to grind.

Wonder what caused the renewed attacks against LPIN sites? Brothels are shut down for the foreseeable future.

Could it be the same organization sponsoring that anti-brothel lawsuit, the appeal of which got thrown out earlier this month?

I just banned an IP range coming from th RIPE network. According to the logs, they were flooding the site about 2-3 times a second!  If the "other" forum sites need my help, I know the exact range and I'm willing to help them block their attacks too. Just send me a PM.

Thanks bro! I'm just glad I'm able to figure it out! I was able to do something on my own until the hosting provider does their own blocking actions.
Attacks went down to once every ten minutes now and then stopped completely.... For now, it looks ok... Time will tell.

Well, the site hackers tried changing the IP address they proxied out of the ukraine to another one.  They tried it three times now.  I blocked the whole range coming from there. The blocker is working nicely. So they can eat a great big juicy pulsating sweaty dick! Is that all they got? You can see from the number of views on this post that they tried targeting mass attacks on this post too before it got stopped.
Is that all ya got bastards? C'mon. Wait till my hosting provider does their work on you. Turned on guest search query verification too just to make you know who's boss too.
Make no mistake folks. This was a targeted attack from someone who has an axe to grind.

Btw, fuckers... Hosting provider works with DDoS mitigation and legal experts to identify DDoS source.
DDoS attacks are illegal under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. Starting a DDoS attack against a network without permission is going to cost you up to 10 years in prison and up to a $500,000 fine.

You should also ban APNIC, nothing but garbage from those places.  I get quite a laugh when I see their scanners try to scan my systems, and this giant alert shows up on my screen  from my firewall lol.

Yes. I agree. Asia Pacific is horrendous. We already block any RIPE or apnic From becoming a member, but yeah site scans from those locations are best blocked by the hosting provider's firewall! Thanks. Q

Well done Q!  DDOSers and script kiddies suck.  Wish they’d use their time on improving things instead of wrecking them.  Don’t the hosters have detectors to auto block this type of attack?
