"As for places to stay, I've only stayed at the Stockmen or the Thunderbird Motel. The Stockmen may give you more bang for your buck as it does offer free breakfast (the portions are good) and is a short walk to Mona's. But I did enjoy my stay at the Thunderbird. Both are within walking distance with the Stockmen being a shorter walk"
Several years ago, I regularly went to a now-closed brothel called P.J.s, which is connected to and behind Inez's. For some reason I always stayed at the Thunderbird. Perhaps because I always drove out there and I guess I liked parking right outside the front door.
Going back to Elko years after, I started staying at Stockmen's and now, would not want to stay elsewhere. I like the coffee shop, the bar and the small casino. Everything is right there. Well, except for the brothels, which are a short walk away.
Regarding that free breakfast, I have always found it amusing how some guys will gush over saving a few dollars when they are spending hundreds, if not thousands at the brothels! But I am the same way. On this last trip, I had the chicken fried steak with eggs breakfast. There was enough meat that I did not leave hungry. Plus, with the voucher I got TWO DOLLARS OFF the full price!!!
