This is encouraging, assuming it’s true, even if I never get to Ely it’s a positive sign to see a brothel open or reopen.Did a domain lookup, site was registered this past June so it’s a recent development.

That said, I feel like business endeavors fall through more often than not. Anyone who visited Shady Lady or Angels probably noticed a sign in Beatty that said “El Sueno” Hotel and Casino. Signs been there for decades, the developer has grandiose plans for it but was never able to get it off the ground. Looking at the proposals of that place I think it was a pipe dream to be honest but if he had gotten his way I’m sure it would have been built, so the people behind this might have legitimate intentions, but there’s a lot that can throw a wrench in plans like this.

I wonder if they are trying to remodel the same building, from what I can tell it’s been abandoned for 25 years and in terrible shape. Website has a picture of the old building so I guess it’s possible. But it looks like Cottontail did before it burned down, basically anyone buying it would most likely be doing so for the land.

Also if someone wanted to start a new place I have to wonder if Ely is the right location. It’s a small out of the way town that already has 2 brothels (the same number as the much larger and more centrally located Pahrump) so I feel like if you are going to (essentially) be building from the ground up and applying for a new brothel license there are probably better locations to do that.

Interesting. I always liked the town of Ely though I never visited the brothels when they were fully open. I was in both of them when brothels were closed but bars and massage parlors were open. Hope everything works out and they open this coming June. I think they would have to offer something different if they were to succeed. You can get luxury in Pahrump and other houses  in NW Nevada so they would have to give us a reason to travel to a kind of remote location. Even though Ely is a shorter drive for me, I always go to Elko because they have such a fantastic red light district.

I've never been a business owner, but here's what guys think when they see a brothel name:

Sagebrush:  A natural place
Bunny Ranch:  Perky, nubile women
Green Lantern Ranch:  There's a bunch of guys there doing cosplay in tight-fitting spandex.  Nobody's thinking "women" when they see that name.

Seriously, they've got to change that name.

I've been to both the houses in Ely since pandemic re-opening..Big Four several times...Big Four is Asian..so language issues with the ladies. The Big Four looks bad from the outside, but actually very nice inside...negotiation house..if your a good negotiator you'll get Elko prices..

The Stardust which is right across the street..usually has a couple ladies..negotiation house again. Place could use some TLC....

From my take the Ely houses cater to the local mining population and Mormon ranchers coming across the state line for sex.

Would a third house make Ely a Sex Tourism destination???.....maybe if they able to recruit and retain a good supply of ladies...

The "X" link for the Green Lantern was not functional..we'll see if it comes to fruition....seems like in this business...that is a high hurdle..to open and stay open...with quality ladies..

Of the rural houses Bella's in Wells usually has a very good selection of ladies...Donna's not so much...I always email Bella's for their current line-up as not all the ladies wish to be on their website..

Both the Well's houses which are right next to each other have huge parking lots, easy in easy out to 93 North and South...a factor if pulling an RV compared to dealing with small town side streets..
A man is only as old, as the women he feels. Groucho Marx...

The Green Lantern was a hopeful location for a brothel to reopen, however the owner sold it before the purchaser was able to get everything in order.  It was purchased by JW Electrical with plans to expand their current business.  Sadly in the near future the building will be torn down :(

Any idea who was behind the plans to reopen it?

By any chance do you know any of the interested buyers of the Love Ranch before it ended up going to you know who?

I’ve been wondering if they would put any effort into opening a place elsewhere in the state. I guess the Green Lantern could theoretically reopen across the street from the former location, just keeping the name, like Chicken Ranch did when it relocated from Texas.

I’m certain there are/were legitimate plans to reopen Green Lantern, but like I mentioned above with El Sueno, there’s just so many things that can derail someone’s plans.

I'm not able to say who it was, but I know  they are looking at another location with big plans.  Since Green Lantern was bought out they've been very careful not to leak much more information.

Sounds encouraging. And yes keep it under wraps. Word getting out is one of the many aforementioned ways plans can get derailed.

Wouldn’t mind them going to Crystal or Beatty.

I wish someone would open a house in Winnemucca. We had 5 at onetime, but now we have zero.  :-\

If I understand things right, Elko County law allows for brothels in Carlin, Elko City, Wells and West Wendover, however the town of West Wendover chose to make them illegal. Would be great for those who fly into/come from Salt Lake City. Not to mention West Wendover has a lot of other things to do.
