The restaurant in the Stagecoach Hotel and Casino is now a Denny's. Beatty is really coming up in the world.

I'll miss Ruby's (I think that was the name) but I like Denny's too.   Great dinner stop on the way to Vegas then some candy from the Death Valley Candy and Nuts store across the parking lot for dessert.

There's actually a new barbecue joint in town, too. Right there where 95 turns left, if you're headed south, across from the old Exchange Club.  Not bad, and run by some nice locals.

And right next to the Sourdough Saloon, there's a little joint that serves nothing but chili and Bud. Classic Beatty eatery!

Thanks, I knew it started with an R and I had the right number of letters.   That's pretty good for me.

Hmm? Getting a Denny's is not what I would consider coming up in the world. Sometimes, I would stop at Boomtown on the way home from Reno to eat. They did the same thing at Boomtown putting a Denny's in to replace the restaurant they did have. Not a problem, now I just drive a few miles further and stop at the Gold Ranch casino and get the $2.99 breakfast. 2 eggs, 2 sausage links and 2 pancakes. And of course always manage to gamble a little.

The Boomtown Denny's is OK, but they would do well to put in a coffee shop at the truck stop like the one they had a few years ago. Great Steak and Eggs for $6.

Actually, my new favorite food bargain restaurant in Reno is Cal Neva . Old Fashioned restaurant with great breakfast, lunch and dinner specials.

Also, some pretty lose slots to boot.

I agree Sidey, the Cal Neva is good food at a reasonable price and the snack bar on the casino floor is open 24 hrs. I'll be staying there for LPIN Gathering XVI, they had he best rates, when I booked back in Feb.

I was in Cal Neva a couple years ago and it was dark and still had old slot machines. They've remodeled the inside with everything new and it looks great. I couldn't believe the food specials. Not just one item per meal. There were several specials including a 2lb burrito for $4.99 with chips and salsa.  It's like an old fashioned restaurant and even has a luch counter if you would rather sit there. I was impressed. I walked down there from the Sands one morning. It's only about a ten minute walk and I saw other people doing the same thing, walking from the Sands down to Cal Neva to eat. I also did good on their "spin to win" slot machine. ;D
