If they are closed, it doesn't suprise me. Since they put restrictions on military personel going to Nevada brothels, I'm sure it has hurt many of them. Also with the price of fuel, truckers probably have to decide on the price of a party or buying diesel.
Kinda strange, I always think of the Wild Cat as bing a part of the southern brothels but it is probably closer to Reno then Vegas.

Wild Kat is about 160 miles from Reno/CC. It's 290 miles from Vegas.
When I drove by it last year, it was brown, with white pillars around it.

Yeah, that's what I though. I remember driving there several years ago when it was Billie's Day and Night. They have a military base out there also. Being a rural brothel kind of guy, I would go out to Salt Wells Villa and Lazy B and if nothing was happening would head south on 95.

Hello everyone I am new here I have been to many brothels in Nevada mostly Dennis H places even had one of his ladies living with me. The Wild kat is open south of mena was there 1 1/2 weeks ago spent the night drank a few beers and slept in one of the rooms they had two ladies there then both very nice one was I think Phillipino and the other one heavy white girl that did massages but she ran off so they got one there now. I am guessing that it wont be open through the winter the propane tank is empty which means its gonna be a cold one. 10/17/2011

The last time I talked to a "military guy" he said they weren't allowed to go see IC's or go to brothels because it was going against the morality rules that they have in place. EVEN getting a blow job is against the rules. (and yes this includes from their wives!) When I asked if people really got in trouble about it he said that MOST of the time it's just another "don't ask don't tell" kind of thing...but if the guys really did want to be jerks about it, if they caught them and really DID want to get them in trouble, they could. I think it's stupid, but some of the rules are for safety I suppose. :( Eh, well.

When I was in the Army back in the '60s we were told we are U.S. Government Issue property... thus the name, G.I.s. Being Government Issue property, we were expected to take care of that property and not expose it to potential harm which includes venereal diseases. It was not necessarily a morality thing as much as protecting a government asset. Even doing things like motorcycle racing, sky diving or even a game of touch football where injuries might occur could bring the rath of the Army down on you for not taking care of their property.
But, as Gummi Bear touched on, there was a don't ask, don't tell mind set about visiting Ladies of the Evening. As long as you didn't show up at a medical dyspensary with a case of the clap, no one was gonna say anything about your off-duty shenanigans.
When I was overseas, stationed on Okinawa, it was understood that most G.I.s posted there would be visiting the girls who worked in the bars & bath-houses on the Island. I certainly had my favorites over there. I was there for 18 months and I partied as often as I could. ;D

The establishment then must "be served" to provide notice. There is no penalty for the establishment for violations but the service member who violates such an order can be court martialed. Now it would seem to me that if the brothels were off limits, there would clearly be a record of it somewhere. Having not found it, I conclude it does not exist. IMHO

When Salt Wells Villa was still open in Fallon it was put off limits for people stationed at the NAS there. The reason was because one of the officers went in and used his government issued credit card. There was a big stink about it at the time. That's the only house I'm aware being declared off limits. Dennis even offers an active duty discount occasionally.

Even though going to brothels is one of the safest ways to get busy (lets face it...you can't trust a gal now-a-days that says she is clean...I kinda want proof myself lol)...but I think for the most part it is a "safety" thing they are most worried about (when it comes to sexual activity)...

As you said PB it's more about safety than anything. :)...so while there are those "rules" or guidelines, if a higher up came and questioned why they were allowing activity like that going on (not making a fuss about gentlemen going to legal brothels), IF they had proof that the men in uniform were actually patronizing those establishments for the purpose of partying, then they could (again if they wanted to) make a stink about it and cause trouble for the gent patrons.
