When going to or from the brothel

Where do you eat? Back in the day {yes 7 years mikey} I usually stopped at a 7/11 and grabbed a refrigerated sandwich and a bag of Fritos. After it was too late, I learned good food was an important part of the trip. Buffets get old along with fast food you can get at home so where do you eat? In Reno, Carson City or around the Southern brothels or even out at the rural brothels. I know a few have mentioned the flying Pig in Winnemucca which I tried once and it was just alright. Where else? Who has the best brothel food that's available to customers?

If this one gets enough responses, we'll put it in the TSVI section so people can reference it for trips...

with all the Nevada locals who post, perhaps they could come up with some ideas.

of course YMMV, one person's great meal is another's 'only so-so meal'....My recollections
inside a brothel, the Wildhorse Saloon has a pretty extensive and attractively prices menu, available to 7 AM to 8 PM usually; i haven't had a bad dinner, lunch or breakfast there.  the steak dinner at Sheri's i saw being served really looked and smelled good last winter, again not casino buffet priced but not that expensive either.  Monica at the Dovetail does a mean PBJ, and pretty good hot dogs...
before you hit the brothel, Red's in Carson City is good lunch type place (sandwiches, ribs and beer), and not really as expensive as it might appear, and the coffee shop in the Carson Station Best Western is pretty good.  JR's in Elko is a good breakfast place, fresh made to order omelets are their specialty, the Stock man's cafe is okay, and there were a few other places in town that are reported to be good.  The Pig in Winny was only so-so two years ago, but had rebounded as of last summer and much better, the Griddle in Winny is a landmark on the main drag and good food.  Plenty of choices in Pahrump, but few are non-chains or fast food choices, Wulffy's Pub in the Best western was pretty good bar food.

once you leave 'civilization' in Nevada your choices will thin out drastically, and i usually don't stop at BM or Beatty to eat. There is nothing but a small store in Mina.  I can't recall anything other than Bella's Diner in Wells that wasn't fast food,  HG says the meals there are pretty good

the Griddle? Is that the place that looks like a log cabin? If so, I stopped there a couple different times and saw people waiting outside to get in. Either I hit it on the wrong days or else it's the most popular breakfast in town. the Squeeze in which was very popular in Truckee and very good is now in Reno from what I understand but I haven't ate at the one in Reno yet. Maybe on Monday.

The Wildhorse has (or at least had) pretty good food, I had some decent post coital enchiladas there, last time I was out.
On the South side of the highway, in Moundhouse, abound the boundry with Carson City, there is a gas station that has had the office converted into a take out place with really good tacos on home made tortillas.

In Reno, there's a bar on the West side of the UNR campus that had pretty decent food, not to mention coeds to look at, it was pretty nice in warm weather, with a patio. Parking was a bear, though. Up the hill from there was a reasonably OK barbecue place, seems to me they had an artillery piece out front.  I'm trying to remember the names of the places, but am not having much luck.

Mom's Diner in Pahrump is one of my favorites.  Red Sky BBQ isn't bad either...for Pahrump.

When I fly from Boston to Reno, I prefer to leave early in the morning to get as much of a day in town as possible.   That puts me into Reno just before noon.   Then I get the rental car but the hotel doesn't have check in until 3PM so I go to the Claim Jumper at South Virginia and Kitzie ( sp?) for lunch and to kill some time.   Sometimes Faroakian (poster and local) will join me.  The atmosphere and food is nice.   Other then that, I just grab a bite someplace when needed.   Oh yes, having breakfast at the now closed Scruples with the mongers was always enjoyable and a must.

I'll tell you a funny story.  One time a few of us mongers went out to dinner before going to the Wildhorse for their buffet and "show" they were putting on for us.   Now, I had never met Susan at the WH and when I got there, I introduced myself.   She points to the buffet set up for us and says why don't you help yourself?   I told her we had just come from dinner. She points to the buffet and says "all this food!"    So I told her that their was something about us mongers she should know, that we tend to buy something we could otherwise get for free.   She laughed and said: "thank God for you men".  lol.   True story.

Daddy D's Rocket Diner.  A retro diner with a varied menu dominated by "Dude Food" but with several heathy  (diet) options.   Breakfast is always available.  The best 12 oz. steak available in the region.   Every Wednesday is Mexican night with authentic home-made Mexican cuisine. Daily specials.  The Chamber of Commerce routinely chooses this diner for their monthly meetings and just had their Christmas party here.   We have regular customers who drive from as far away as Tonopah WEEKLY to eat here.  If you like spicy - you have to try the Jalopeno bacon - subtle.  The first bite is all bacon with a delayed, mild tongue warming to follow.  Addictive.

Also handy when you're on a road trip because it's located in The Area 51 Alien Travel Center (2711 E. Hwy 95) where you can also fuel up for prices that are competitive with Beatty & Pahrump.

Diner? Is that the same spot as the jerkey/candy store?

It's in the same Travel center.  It is not the same business.  The travel center includes a gas station, ample turn-around & over night parking, picnic area, Diner, Store, Brothel, and 5 acres that will be developed as a park-like environment.  The brothel includes rooms that clients can sleepover in - with or without a girl - if they party for $500 or more or if they have a Sheri's room voucher.
