Elko/Carlin visit

I'll post reviews of the girls separately, but here's a rundown of my logistics/food/hotel.

I flew into SLC and rented a car. I've kind of evolved a bit, I kind of like having a car in Elko now, but I'm still open to flying into Elko and walking everywhere. Speaking of Elko airport, SLC has completed an expansion to Termibal 1/A gates (or as I call it, "front" terminal), it looks like Delta no longer operates any flights out of Terminal 2/B gates/"rear" terminal, so those of you flying to Elko airport, when switching planes you won't have that long walk through the tunnel, your flight to Elko will have an A gate. I don't know if they still bus you to the plane on the tarmac. I will say that the rear terminal (I was flying an airline that wasn't Delta)  was noticeably quieter than I remember it with Delta being out of there.

My flight was an evening flight, so I made the drive to Elko in the dark. That was an interesting experience. I made the comment that all you can see is pitch blackness, except for one lone light off in the distance. It's fun to imagine what that might be. Someone's house? A random streetlight? A UFO?
I got to Elko just in time to go to Pizza Barn. I really liked it, the pizza and atmosphere had that old school pizza vibe (think Shakeys) that I love. Only thing is the maintenance of the place is a bit questionable, as it was my first stop upon arriving in Elko from SLC, I needed to go to the bathroom. It looks like the Men's room has a problem,  so they converted the Women's room to a unisex restroom. It looked like something that they were doing long term.

I then headed to my hotel, the Quality Inn. I had stayed at the sister property, Comfort Inn on my previous visit. I actually chose Quality as it did not have an indoor pool and I felt it would be quieter (families would be more likely to go to a place with a pool), well it was quieter, but the place was rather run down. Quality Inn used to be a step above Comfort Inn, but the parent company reversed the brands, so Comfort is better, I'll probably do Comfort next time.

Before partying I hit a casino, and won a few thousand dollars, yes you read that right, so this trip was pretty much free.

I keep telling myself I will go somewhere that's not Inez's/Monas every trip. I finally made good on it. Went to Dovetail in Carlin. As many know there is new management there. I didn't get his name, but the manager/bartender (really nice guy) mentioned "we took over about 3 weeks ago", we was referring to himself and Paige Nicole. So they might be a pair, or they just happened to be hired at the exact same time. If you go ask them about the upside down Bud Light sign, ha ha.

Paige Nicole (madam on the menu) was the girl I saw, she is typically appointment only, but as there were no other girls working that day she was on the floor filling in for anyone that just dropped by, like me.

I saw Layla (Monas) that night, and Selena (Inez's) the next day. Saw Peter, it had been a long time. As I left I told him I hoped that the same drama he faced just after I left the last time he saw me would not be bestowed upon him:

Lol, Normally I wouldn't have brought myself into that conversation but it was just so funny to me all that went down within 20 minutes of my visit.

For food, on the first day I had lunch at the Coffee Mug and dinner at Wingers. Both are really good. So good in fact that I wanted to eat at both the next day. Unfortunately I was going to leave shortly after lunch as I was spending that night near SLC airport, so I'd have to pick one. I then had a genius idea, I had lunch at the coffee mug, and then I did takeout from Wingers to take to SLC with me as I knew my SLC hotel had microwaves as I had stayed there before, plus as there's not a whole lot around there as far as restaurants go, I felt it would be nice to just check into the hotel, eat and go to bed after the long drive, as I hadn't slept well at my Elko hotel.

Well, I guess it's time to start planning another trip, I definitely have the bankroll for it.

Also there looks to be a new hotel opening in the former Wingate. I believe it's called Elkotel, so there will soon be another option.
