just to let you know, those of you coming from far, far away... i was in western Nevada this last weekend and EVERY damn plant in the arsenal was in full bloom, the sage, the pasture grasses, the trees and and all the weeds,  so if you are subject to allergies or hayfever be sure to start taking you antihistimes now so they'll work when you get there and bring a supply along..

other than that the weather is supposed to be pleasant and not real ho and nasty in Northern Nevada, the 'fireworks are illegal in Nevada' signs are up (wonder how that affects the Indian fireworks stands in Shurtz?), but then most of you won't be trying to take home a suitcase full of fireworks (i hope)  Highway 395 is still all chewed up between Gardenerville and Carson City and the excahnge in Washoe won't be open soon (looks to be the last thing to be done on the bypass) and parts of 80 and 395 in Reno itself are still a little hairy with barricades and construction... can't report on i 80 beyond exit 28 but expect constuction areas i'm sure

and remember you Hawaiian shirts, tourist shorts, white socks and sandals

lookin' forward to see you all in few weeks

A warning about South McCarran Boulevard also.   There is a widening project going on currently which means the portion of McCarran between Airway Drive and Rock Boulevard is one lane each way.

Ah yes the dreded orange barrel season is in full bloom spreading its luster and flustration far and wide.

SIDEWINDER

Good info Tom. Another thing I always make sure to carry when going to Nevada is lip balm.  The dry air and sun can really do a number on your lips quick in Nevada.

things i forgot.. coming up from the LA basin on 395, at least from wgere 108 intersects 395 i ran in ito tow section of one lane traffic, one in the canyon south of Walker where they were painting the lines.. that job looked like it was about done... 10 minute wait, maybe

at Topaz Lake there's another construction zone, replacing the guardrails and shoring up the road along the cliffs... this job looks to be going on for awhile yet, so expect that zone... maybe 15 minute wait, but at least you get to look at the lake

lip balm, always forget that one....haven't had to resort to lipstick ...yet
