Some hopeful news! The voice of the brothels is finally being heard on a public forum.
Today, during a meeting of Sisolak's COVID-19 Mitigation and Management Task Force, several people representing the brothels called in to the meeting to make their case for the brothels to reopen. These callers consisted of two county officials representing Nye and Storey county, Mustang Ranch owner Lance Gilman, Madam Trudy of the Chicken Ranch, and an attorney that represents the Chicken Ranch.
It's a good listen and at least gives us hope that the gears have been set in motion for the brothels to reopen in Nevada's "new normal."

And here is a timestamped link to the Youtube video: https://youtu.be/5GXwYIX-cdk?t=1820 (discussion starts at 30:20)
Here's also a link to the transcript of testimony Lance Gilman delivered to the Nevada COVID task force (for those who prefer reading vs watching the video).

That's good news. Covid is not an STI... though it seems to be being treated as such in practice. The "skin on skin" argument is pretty weak.
I live in Colorado and got a tattoo in early June, shortly after they were allowed to reopen. Crazy how that was 4 months ago already...
On another note, Nevada's political spectrum is..interesting.
Don't count on the brothels opening any time soon as long as the government dictates social distancing and masks.
Also, I thought Mustang was already open as an " escort service," making big bucks.

Being open and making big bucks are two totally different things. Yes they are open on their escort service license. But compared to 'normal' there is a fraction of the lineup that they would usually have.
I'm back, thankyou Q,
I am now a board member on LPIN (WMCA) and would like to thank the board for voting me in.
I have been tasked with two objectives, one to bring more male members into LPIN, and two, work with Sisolak to reopen Nevada brothels.
I have talked to the Nye county commissioner regarding the COVID task force meeting yesterday and the good news is that he is on our side, would like to open the brothels. The Chicken ranch presented a 13 page argument siting protocols used by dentists and massage parlors that was quite convincing.
Unfortunately, no decisions have been made thus far.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, October 22nd, at 10am and will be another call-in only virtual meeting. My plan is to present an example of protocols practiced by physical therapists, etc., temperature checks at brothel front doors and the girls, brothel workers be tested for the virus as well.
There is hope as long as we persist, they cannot keep the brothels closed forever.
The brothels have been closed way to long. It's not fair to us. We should be the same as the massage parlors. No difference. Body contact. Most of us are starving and in debt.some of us girls still have nit seen a dollar from unemployment. It's been rough. Unemployment more interested in why we live in another state and filing in Nevada. Crazy. But hopefully the money will come in a big lump sum snd I can take care of all my bills. As for these meetings I encourage even little brothels to go to the meeting on October 22 to represent their brothels. This is a time we should all reunite. Let's get the show on the road.
XO Vanity

LOL. A licensed escort service.
No, it's more about Lance giving Governor Sisolak the middle finger, and now wanting him to grant his brothel permission to reopen. How can that happen if your beloved COVID-19 is real? There are no safety protocols that will make brothels safe. That is if you believe COVID-19 is real. There is no way a Democrat-controlled state will allow brothels to reopen when they don't even allow people to attend a football game in Las Vegas with masks and social distrusting. Brothels will only reopen when the Democrats deem that COVID-19 is over or when they get voted out of office.

If you want to use this logic, there are two points to differentiate brothels from businesses that need to be closed:
1. The virus won't expire or die out over time - the purpose of the lockdowns was to keep the rate of infection low enough so hospitals could handle it. So businesses where either (1) large number of people come into contact at once or (2) individuals come into contact with others in quick sequence needed to be banned. But a brothel is not only these things, it's the complete
opposite of these things. There's no group contact at all, and individual contact is at a very, very slow pace. So brothels do not affect a hospital's ability to handle the virus.
2. It's the close positioning of people during sex that can increase transmission, not the purchasing of services itself. If the state viewed this as a concern it would ban not the purchasing of services, but sex itself. Since the state views sex as reasonable between individuals, it is equally reasonable with a provider. This is particularly true since individuals don't do health checks with their partners, but brothels
always do health checks and those checks are extensive.

They won't even have the meetings in person, so how would anyone think they would reopen a brothel.
And to the protocols that you are taking about, dentists and massage parlors and physical therapists.
Guess what they are not brothels; you are not having sex with a woman you have never met before.
What do people think goes on in a brothel?
That you fork out a large sum of cash to wear a mask and stay six feet from the woman at all times no, you pay the money to have sex with no stupid social distancing and no N-95 face cover.
And just for all you who a worried about COVID 19, none of the so-called protocols and testing are a guarantees anyone's safety.
So until they alow all the other businesses to return to per COVID-19 operating procedures, the brothels will stay closed.

That's exactly right. If you really want to put some restrictions, eliminate the bars and go back to doing this old school where the client selects the lady either by appointment or from an ipad lineup. You can really reduce/eliminate the contact with others in the environment.
The fact that Lance is using his escort license provides a limited way for some ladies, as well as the house itself to make some income. I doubt anyone in the business is doing high volume right now. Legal or otherwise.

The problem is the supporters of masks, social distancing and closing of business will only accept 0 cases of COVID-19.
And the anti-brothel / prostitution groups will use any cases of COVID-19 linked to a brothel as fuel to get them banned permanently.

Nobody is expecting cases to be zero. Its hospitalizations within capacity (Just exceeded in Madison, WI, for example due to gatherings on UW campus). And minimize deaths.
Cases are going to happen. Even in a full lockdown.
I would think that it would be a better strategy to instead get some kind of relief package so that the brothels will be able to survive until it is officially safe to open (whatever that means).

I'll probably loose my nose for sticking it in here, but I don't care. The constant bickering back and forth is harshing my buzz, man.... I don't know anything more than anyone else; probably less than most. (I have my head up my ass 99.9% of the time.)
But, some of you all can talk and talk and talk about the same things, ad nauseum. A guy makes a 'hopeful' post about actually doing something positive about the situation, and nothing but negative comments occur in response. (And they are the SAME never-ending arguments!)
I don't know whether DJ Jorge is on the level, or whether he is on some quixotic, self-proclaimed mission as the savior of SIN; but I'd like to at least find out. If he is 'legitimately' involved in trying to get the brothels reopened, I'd like to find out how I (we) can help. [I'm betting it's not by continuing to repetitively type the same circle-jerk arguments on boards like this.]
Maybe we can have a discord chat (or something similar) to discuss what plans there might be. (You know, things like planning, organizing, coordinating, etc.)

Gonna have to agree with you, there. This has been a very depressing board to visit for the past several months (obviously, cause the hobby that brought us all together has been on indefinite hold since March).
I'll be honest, if it wasn't for the wealth of information and friendships I have made by becoming a member of these boards, I would probably still be a lurker. There's just WAY too much infighting and pessimism going on here (usually about things that have nothing to do with the brothels)...
We have the best news we've gotten in months and certain posters can't help but reply with negativity. Fact is, this entire situation is completely unprecedented. The brothels never faced anything like this since they were legalized in 1971. When they were silent, I had my doubts. But now, I feel like there's actual hope in a reopening. The line in the sand has finally been drawn. If Sisolak won't budge, his administration gets sued, which could cost him his emergency powers. And I'm sure he doesn't want that!
This may be a golden opportunity for all the rivaling brothels to finally come together and allow Hof's legacy to die with him, if at least temporarily. They are stronger together than apart, which is clearer now more than ever. Right now, the one thing they all share is that they're indefinitely shuttered. I think it's time for an armistice between all the houses!
Idk who DJ Jorge or the WMCA is. He made a similar post several months back on Varga's forum that he was able to schedule a meeting with Governor Sisolak. I never heard any follow-up regarding that. But if he's willing to help, he at least deserves a chance to have his case heard!

Thanks for the update. This is not directed at you but it's always annoying to me when public officials provide a comment period only because they are required to but then don't provide any feedback at all. It's institutionalized passive aggression.
Let's hope this works and the governor allows us to reopen soon
