Ok, this thread started out with things to see, do, and eat in Carson City but has now moved to water rights and the politics thereof.  I think that any further discussions of that should have it's own thread (in the way off topic or general discussion area) before any of the real suggestions get pushed so far down they can't be found.  Thank you for your compliance.

...I have a well that produces at least 15 gallons per minute.

I use reverse osmosis to process for drinking and cooking since I live in a somewhat rural area.  A couple of miles from my home is a bottler of water sold throughout the US.  The EPA and others have said that this area has some of the purest water available in the US.

I also have my own "well"  (hand dug by my Fayher, 12 feet deep).

It runs pretty constant at around 1 gallon per minute.

Lucky for me it flows from there by gravity into a holding tank.

Why do you use reverse osmosis to process your water?

Hopefully it will be gone once the sun gets a chance to warm things up a bit.  Looks like the weather should be improving each day through the weekend for those heading to the Ranches and Halloween parties.  Partly cloudy with Mid to upper 60's by the weekend throughout the area. Lows in the 20's - 30's.

Have fun,

Here's a better site for weather, tried others but keep coming back to this one.

http://www.nws.noaa.gov/

Be warned they switched to using google for some of the detailed area maps (at least for my area) and you might grow old waiting on it to load. To be honest these google maps aren't worth seeing.

Better due to this is where most of the others get the data from. Also the NWS has a network of remote reporting stations, along with udating their current conditions block found in the lower right corner of the more detailed forcast given to a localized spot.

The NWS issues the weather related watches/warnings that the other media then broadcast. If you've got a weather radio/shortwave/ham you can turn in directly to their network that sends out this info also. Look on the site and you can find the frequency for the closest NWS broadcast. Most are in the 162.5mhz area.

Most of us know about the Gold Dust West to stay. A little pricey, but very nice rooms and great beds. coffee shop is also very good.  They offer AAA and AARP discounts, and now a BunnyRanch discount.

The Nevada State Railroad museum is on the South end of town and worth a look.

Eats, well three years ago we held the banquet at Q's B-B-Q, still a favorite . For very gooe Itilian food try Adele's, 1112 N. Carson  1 block North of the Carson St. US 50 corner. Reservations are a good idea.

Yes I have seen it, I always stay at the GDW, and have even when it was the Pinion Plaza.  They send me discounts in the mail all the time.

I'm going to have to check a few of these places out.
I highly recommend Gengix (asian fusion - reasonable) in CC
also Mings. I haven't been to Red's yet. But, I heard it's really good.

If you stay at the gold dust and mention Bunnyranch it is $65 a night plus you get a free breakfast.

shooter

Kalli, I get to stay at the GDW for $65/night without mentioning the bunnyranch.
