This Lotus Eater heard the Sirens Song calling from Babylon (Elko). Time to hit the Corridor of Carnage and make a pilgrimage to the Gilded Palace of Sin (Mona's). Winter has now officially come to the high country. There was snow right up to the road in places and melted on the road. Had to avoid 3 peacocks, 2 deer, and a lone coyote on the road.

Yeah.  You'd be surprised which courtesans are married, with kids.

Being as much a fan of Rose as Rabnut (but not nearly as poetic), it's always nice to get his reviews.  I was saddened to hear the snow report though, as I am usually driving those very lonely roads and will have to wait until spring to see Rose in full bloom again.

You are too kind. Not sure about the poet thing. I think of it more as a journalist just reporting what's happening. Think Dr. Seuss rather than Shakespeare.

I probably had an unfair advantage from early on.

My dad, as stated elsewhere, was a Vietnam era tough guy, army sergeant, hilarious raconteur, who could cuss very colorfully and creatively (think Gunny Lee Ermey in Full Metal Jacket). My mom, a high school English teacher, had me grading fellow students' papers anonymously while I was still in high school (she was at a different school).

Good training from both.

Mostly, My Muse is just an incredibly inspirational human being.
